No School: Monday the 20th
Tuesday: Big Day - the kids have a really fun assembly in the morning presented by Montana Shakes. Our show is called "Good Night, Sweet Prince; Great King!" We will spend our afternoon visiting the colony. I would strongly suggest making sure that your child is dressed for the mud. Permission slips should have already been returned - thanks.

Picture This: The spring picture packets are available for sale in the office. Please stop in and see if you would like to purchase your child's spring pictures.
Chapter Book: A Mouse Called Wolf was a fun story to read. We read about a mouse who can compose music. He also has a mom who loves chocolate! Ask your child what they liked about the story.
Science: In science, we will continue to learn about and work with environments and habitats.
Math: This week, we will finish out Unit 8 with the test being on Thursday. We will start Unit 9, which begins by having students solve addition problems using 100-partners. Homework due Friday.
Spelling: We will learn about the prefixes -un and -re. Test Friday!
Grammar: We will practice using irregular, action verbs.
Reading: Homework due Friday! Some of you requested the site for our Ticket to Read program that supports our new reading series. I believe that you can get to it at https://readwell.voyagersopris.com/logon (you may not need the logon part). The user name is their first and last name (lowercase, no spaces) and the password is 123456.
Spy Kids: We will be reading a nonfiction story titled, Violent Volcanoes. We will discuss the story elements of the selection. We will practice locating important information. We will talk about the facts in the story. Our vocabulary words are - volcano, lava, ash, island, crust & legend. Our high frequency words are - built, earth, eleven, erupt, even, have, live and volcano.
Thundermans: We will be reading Our World, Our Home. It is a realistic fiction story. We will work on comparing and contrasting events. We will look at base words and suffixes. Our vocab words are - amazed, inventor, perfect, plain, pout, respect (sing it with me, RESPECT) and scowl. We will discuss the figure of speech, "get carried away."
