It was so nice to get to see almost everyone at conferences. The kids were so excited that sooo many of you were also able to attend our class play(s). I just love this play!
Reading: Our story this week is a fantasy story titled, Serious Farm.
phonics/spelling: -or, -ore, and -our words
comprehension: continue to look at plot
grammar: subject-verb agreement
vocab: assumed, serious, extremely, admit, barely, hilarious, witty (like me), absurd (like me, too) & attempt
Math: We will be working on comparing information on picture graphs. We will also be completing comparison story problems. We are still working on getting faster at solving addition and subtraction problems. A few students have recently moved up in their Mad Minute scores!
Cursive: We are slowly working our way through introducing the letters. This is like learning a new language for many of the kids.
Chapter Book: We just finished reading an A-Z mystery book. The kids got very wrapped up in solving the case.
Social Studies: We will be talking about what it means to be a good citizen.
Thanks everyone,
Jaime
