Food Drive: The food drive will end on the 22nd. We will get 1 point for every item that the elementary students bring in. The high school students will total up which school has more points (hmmm...is that fair?). We will find out after break who was more generous in donations. Thanks for sending in so much good stuff (after X-mas I plan to hit you up for some much needed classroom supplies - fair warning!).
Facility Meeting: Super interesting. It looks like our long term goal may be to add an elementary school onto the high school. I love our building but sadly, I feel that we need to work towards a new building for the benefit of the students.
Spelling: Last list this year!!! The homework is due on Friday as usual.
Chapter Book: We just finished Junie B. Jones and the Yucky, Blucky Fruitcake. Ask the kids how it turned out. FYI - Junie B. decided that fruitcake wasn't so bad.
Readers: Anyone want to read a Christmas book to the class? So far, no takers!
Social Studies/Art: Christmas activities
Math: .Story problems. The kids have been doing very well with these.
Reading: We are reading a nonfiction story, Rain Forest Babies.
high freq. words: care, father, interesting, sweat, thumb, & touch

Progress Reports: These were mailed home. They are simply used to give you an idea of where your child is at right now. I don't usually write any comments on them. Feel free to contact me if you had questions.
December 23 is an early release day. Feel free to send in a treat for our class party. After this week, there will be no homework until we return from break. Probably no newsletter until then either.
Merry Christmas!
