I love Halloween. I hope that all of you who are out trick-or-treating stop by my house for goodies. We leave ours out while we go beg treats off of all of our neighbors.
Early Release: Tuesday is conference day and the kids are released at 2:38. I look forward to seeing all of you on Tuesday. If you don't know what time your conference is scheduled for, please call and ask Ms. Maureen or Ms. Laci.
I love conferences. I apologize though ahead of time. If you feel like I rushed you, please know that this year all of my conferences are scheduled back to back so I will really have to watch the clock.
Please check out our artwork displayed outside of our room and the faculty room. Also, look for instructions. I will have an assignment in the hall for you ALL to complete. I like to keep you on your toes, literally (just keep in mind that you won't have to remove your shoes for the assignement!).
Report Cards: These will be distributed on Tuesday when we meet.
Special Thanks: The kids thoroughly enjoyed our painting project. We could not have done so many projects if it weren't for our "volunteers." Thank you Macen's Mom, Claire's Mom and Savannah's Grandma.
Book-It Calendar: Friday is the last day to submit the October one. I sent home the November one today and it is due at the end of November (gobble, gobble a good PIZZA).
Grammar: We will learn how to use a thesaurus. We will learn about synonyms (words that mean the same thing).
Spelling: We will learn how to add -ed and -ing to words. The homework and test are both due on Friday.
Reading: We all need a little extra time to continue with last week's units. However, there is a new homework - due Friday.
Math: We will finish up and test on unit 2. We will do a little more measuring of perimeter (P). Chapter 3 will have us solving lots of story problems. Homework due on Friday.
Halloween: Wear something "Halloweeny" on Monday (like black and orange clothes). If you want to send in a treat, 18 kids would greatly appreciate it.
Sadly, I had a much nicer newsletter ready and the computer ate it!
This was definitely not a treat,it was a very ugly trick!!!!
Happy Halloween!
