I almost said that the dog ate my homework this week.  I did not think that I was going to get this done for you.

We have a winner!:  Mariana won the coloring contest last month at the hospital.  She really did have a lovely turkey.

Gingerbread houses:  Mrs. Brewer invited us to join her class on Thursday to make gingerbread houses.  A supply list was sent home today from her (it is probably crinkled in your child's backpack).  Please make sure to look for it.

Music:  Mrs. Blair sent home the songs that the kids need to practice for the show.

Food Drive:  We are collecting nonperishable items and toiletries for the food bank.  It is a competition to see if the high school or the elementary school can gather up more goodies. Thank you to those of you who have already raided your cabinets.

"Sickies":  If you want me to send home your child's homework with somebody when your child is sick, please feel free to call and leave a message with Ms. Maureen or Ms. Connie.  I don't always see the e-mails until after the fact.

Math:  Story problems!

Chapter Book:  Yep, I returned to the world of Junie B.  We are almost done reading Junie B. Jones and the Yucky, Blucky Fruitcake.

Spelling:  We are working with words that have the /s/ sound but are spelled with a /c/ and words that have the /j/ sound but are spelled with /g/ or /dge/.  Test Friday.

Reading:  The kids are anxious to read our story, Big Bushy Mustache.  It is a realistic fiction story (a story that could really happen).
comprehension:  review fiction and nonfiction
high freq. words:  above, shoes, tough, wash, wear, woman, young
vocab:  wilting, flitted, gobble, improvise, route, semblance (holy cow), trance, and wilting
homework:  due Friday

MAP Testing:  We will be testing this week and next week.

Volunteers:  If anyone has a non-religious story that they would like to read for Christmastime please let me know.  I would love to have some guest readers.  Please send me a note and write down a few times/dates so  that I can try to accommodate your schedule.

Last but not least, I will be out on Tuesday and Wednesday. I agreed to serve on a committee to discuss the pro/cons of fixing up this building or building a new school.  I was asked to invite 2 or 3 friends to the meeting on Wednesday night.  So you are all invited to attend at 6:30 (I believe at the high school).

Thanks,
Jaime

Hello Everybody!  My name is Mrs. Williams (Jaime to all of you grown-ups).  If you know Mr. Williams (Clint), then you know my husband.  Noah, our son, is in fourth grade.  Talon (aka T) is in second with me!

This is my fourth year at WSS.  Prior to teaching here,  I taught kindergarten for 5 years and first grade for 3 years in Pennsylvania.  I also taught second grade for a year in Idaho.
