Valentine's Day: We will be celebrating Valentine's Day this Friday. Please feel free to send in a treat.
I told the kids that they need to make a box for their Valentine's Day cards. Please send the boxes and the cards in on Thursday or Friday. Be creative with your box, but please make sure that your child's name and number are displayed on it.
Jewelry: This year the girls as a whole have a hard time not being distracted by their necklaces and bracelets (mainly they chew on them- gross). It would be best if these items just stayed at home. Thank you.
Science: We will continue to discuss animals.
Math: We will be discussing telling time to the minute, as well as elapsed time.
Reading: We will be reading The Life of George Washington Carver (a biography).
phonics/spelling: focus on r-controlled words spelled with -ear and
vocab: brew, snug, supplies, crop, provide, earn, committee, experiments, innovations, & edible
grammar: introduce words that compare
comprehension: review how to use the Table of Contents
*This week we discussed in class and in library different reference books and what they are used for (thesaurus, dictionary, encyclopedia, atlas, maps and Internet).
Enjoy the Super Bowl this weekend (GO STEELERS - not!)
