Grammar: This week we will discuss proper nouns (special people, places, things and animals). We will discuss that proper nouns need capitalized. Also, we will discuss homophones (words that sound the same but mean different things and are spelled differently).
Spelling: Our spelling words will all have double consonants or ck. Homework is due on Friday.
Math: We will continue using the cm side of our rulers. We will be measuring the perimeter of many shapes (the outside part). Homework due Friday.
Reading: The kids are all working hard on improving their fluency. They are all trying to read as many words as they can in one minute. They are also trying to make no more than 2 errors when they read.
I accidentally marked that some of the kids in Scooby Doo did not submit their homework last week. Forgive me, I made the adjustment in my grades that they completed their assignments.
Homework due Friday.
Chapter Book: We are finishing up our A-Z mystery.
Social Studies: We will begin our basic study of local and federal government. We will discuss that leaders are elected, what some of their responsibilities are and where they work. It will be our unit for the next several weeks.
Thanks,
Jaime
