Hi Everyone,
We had lots of fun this week reading Dr. Seuss books. On Monday all of the grades from kindergarten to sixth grade got together in the gym and read. The kids seemed to enjoy it. Many of them would like to do it again.
Reading: The bee story was very informative and well liked. Ms. Hurley heard us reading and loaned us a bee hive. It is super cool.
Story: Another interesting nonfiction story -Watching in the Wild
vocab: extinct, pledge, patience, tedious, blended, cradled, raggedy, personalities, distance & crumpled
phonics/spelling: /ar/ sound
comprehension: discuss synonyms more
practice summarizing
Math: We will review money (counting change). Get your piggy banks out and practice counting money at home. We will also review the sequencing of numbers.
Social Studies: We will continue to talk about citizenship. We really didn't get to touch on this subject yet.
Food Chain: We had 2 fifth graders visit us. They discussed land and ocean food chains. They did an amazing job!
