I hope that you all have a wonderful holiday. The kids and I enjoyed our short week. We did a fun science project to get a better understanding about birds' beaks. We practiced telling time and counting money with the 6th graders. We did some art projects. We ate some sweet goodies (thanks everyone who sent in party treats). We also played an awesome version of Tic Tac Toe with the 6th graders.
No School: Monday we will still be on spring break. I will see everyone on Tuesday, March 29.
Report Cards: Report cards were mailed home this week! Watch for them. The average 2nd grader has 20-30 A.R. points. Keep up the good work.
Reading: It is another skills review week.
Spelling Test: Review Week - test Friday still. The kids are now being tested on using the spelling words in sentences. They have to write 2 sentences that I dictate to them. All of the words must be spelled correctly, all of the words must be capitalized appropriately and all sentences must have proper punctuation.
Math: I am hoping to finish our graphing unit. We will be subtracting for our next unit. The kids will have to borrow to solve the problems!
Science: We will continue to talk about different animal habitats.
Cursive: The kids are excited that we are almost through our first round of the cursive alphabet. They love it!
Thanks,
Jaime
