I am so ready to say goodbye to January. February is one of my favorite months and I hope that it is kinder to me. My family cannot shake these awful germs. I am anxious to smell again and talk for more than a minute without coughing.
Ok, enough complaining... here's the plan for the week.
Box Tops: We are sadly lacking on Box Tops. Unless, you are ALL hoarding them, we will not be winning the contest against the other classes. We have added 0 since last week.
Reading: Our next story is Annie's Gift.
genre: realistic fiction
comprehension: continue to focus on setting
vocab: journeyed, frail, stomped, sipped, entertain, except, carefree, screeching, horrendous & melodious
phonics/spelling: short e spelled with /ea/
heavy steady bread sweat head thread breath ready meant health
* meadow instead breakfast treasure feather
Spelling and Reading homework are due on Friday - thanks.
Math: We will be starting a unit on telling time. We will tell time to the hour, half hour and in 5 minute intervals. We will use digital and analog clocks. Please practice at home. This can be tough stuff for some. Math homework is due Friday.
Science: We will continue to work on our animal unit. Ask your child what they know about mammals and reptiles (not my favorite).
Thanks Everyone,
Jaime
