Early Release: Please remember that the kids get out at 12:30 on Thursday and do not return to school until January.
Christmas Raffle: Thursday is our last day for purchasing tickets. The winners willbe announced at the end of that day. Good luck everyone.
A special thanks to Mr. Markuson for purchasing a raffle ticket for every child in the elementary school.
Book-It calendars: Feel free to turn them in next week or when we get back from break.
Polar Express: We have been invited to join the kindergarten and first grade class for a special showing of the Polar Express on Thursday morning. The kids are allowed to wear p.j.s to school that day - just keep in mind that they will still be going out for recess (weather permitting).
Snacks: If you want to send in a snack for Thursday, please feel free to do so. We still have 18 students.
Mother Hubbard's cupboard is bare, but I am going to hit you up for more treats once I have our room moved up to the new building.
Student Teacher: When we return from Christmas break, Miss Galt will be joining us.
Concert: Wow, the kids all did a great job. Thanks everyone for getting the kids here and supporting them.
Music News: Since the kids did so well at the concert, Mrs. Blair is taking them caroling around town on Wed., Dec. 21 during their assigned music time.
Painters: A "sparkling" thanks to Gabe's mom, Jenna's mom, Daisy's mom and Claire's mom for bravely coming to assist. You may have noticed them at the concert....they were tinted red and green and proudly decorated in gold glitter!
Math: We will be working this week on place value. However, the only place the kids seem really focused on is where they are going to place their Christmas trees and presents this year!
Reading: The Thundermans really enjoyed talking about Koko the gorilla and her kittens. Koko is almost 50 years old now, I was shocked to discover this. She has had a lot of kittens over the years!
(Some of the kids begged to bring their books home this weekend. Please return them on Monday.) Monday we will identify the parts in multisyllabic words. We will also read about the metamorphosis of frogs!
Spy Kids: We are reading Whales. Our vocab words are breaching, pod and blowhole. We will practice reading - said are what was into are do & has.
Twas just days before Christmas and all through the school,
Every student was stirring because Christmas is COOL!
Have a wonderful holiday everyone!
