We read a biography this week so we decided to write our own biographies, too. Each child was randomly assigned a classmate to interview and write about. The kids did a great job. The biographies will be displayed outside of our classroom (soon).
On Monday, several of the kids brought in a list of books that they had read over the weekend. They then took A.R. tests on them. The A.R. race continues to be a heated battle.
Science: We will be talking about rocks.
Walking Field trip: We will walk over to TinTina Resources this Thursday morning. Please return your permission slip on Monday. Also, please help your child select a favorite rock to take over to TinTina. If the geologists are available, they will look at the rocks and tell the class more about them!
Book Orders: Last one of the year. It is sort of sad to think that I am wrapping stuff up with your kids. There is a coupon to use if you order. If you spend $10, you can select 1 free book (up to a $5 value).
Math: The kids are getting rather good at borrowing. We will be working on three-dimensional shapes next week. We will also learn how to find the area of a shape.
Reading: Our nonfiction story is Let's Go Rock Collecting.
