Lots of good stuff to share with all of you (Lately there has been lots of sharing of the germs! Our class sounds like a group of seals!).
Book Fair: Our class will preview the Book Fair on Monday at 2:30. The kids will make a wish list on Monday of items that they hope that you will purchase for them. On Tuesday at 2:10 (the time has changed from that on your schedule) we will again go to our library and the children will be allowed to purchase any of the items that you agreed to. Please feel free to come to the Book Fair either of those days with your child.
I love books almost as much as chocolate!!!!
Field Trip: Our walking field trip is on Tuesday. Please help your child to select a small rock (one that they can carry) to share if the geologists are available to examine them. I love this field trip. The TinTina always does an amazing job. We will be leaving here at 2:45 and returning at 3:30 (this time has recently been altered).
Nursing Home: We will also be going to the nursing home on Tuesday (as long as everyone is in fair health).
Teach Children to Save: The Bank of the Rockies will do a small presentation on Wednesday about saving money (I really need to pay attention this year).
Early Out: Wednesday the kids get out at 2:35.
No School: Thursday, Friday and Monday (the 17th) we have Easter Break.
Snacks: If anyBUNNY wants to send in a treat for Easter, we still have 18 chicks and 2 mother hens! Please feel free to send in goodies on Wednesday the 16th. HOPfully, we will get a few to share (Ok, I'm done now with the word play...did anyone "hare" me?).
Good Bye: Miss Galt's last day will be on Wed. the 19th. Start preparing your children because there are going to be some sad people around here.
DonorsChoose: Oh my goodness, in less than a week our project got funded by so many wonderful friends and family (and even a few strangers). Thanks everyone who contributed financially and just as importantly, thanks everyone who shared our project! In 3 weeks or less our staff will have access to an Elliason Die Cut Machine and they are amazing (and expensive). If you had planned on contributing to the project, you can still make a donation at DonorsChoose and it will be used to buy additional dies for the school - thank you!!!!!
Happy Easter!
Jaime
Reading: NO HOMEWORK THIS WEEK!!!
Spy Kids: This week, the Spy Kids will be reading about the desert! We will be working with the letter sounds and combinations Xx, or, and -pt. The tricky words for this unit are become, jaguars, more, someone, something, and water.
Thundermans: The Thundermans will be starting a new unit this week title "African Adventures". They will be continuing to read about the adventures of a reoccurring character, Miss Tam.
Spelling: Due to the fact that it is a short week, we will not be doing spelling.
Grammar: In grammar, we will be working with reflexive pronouns and review subjects and predicates.
Math: Math this week will be a continuation of working on subtraction, along with some additional work with two-digit and three-digit addition. (NO HOMEWORK THIS WEEK).
Science: We will continue to discuss rocks, soils, and fossils in science.
Thanks,
Abbey
